Februar 2006.

No to deepening the sectarian hatred policy - lets stand against the sectarian war

An armed sectarian group has bombed one of the holiest sites in Shiite Islam in Iraq, sparking furious protests. Another group in Baghdad attacked at least five Sunni mosques and burnt many vehicles belong to the ministry of interior in reprisal raids, with disturbances reported in other cities.

Following these incidents a climate of fears and tension has dominated the country drawing worries in the faces of the people who are afraid of a retaliation war erupting between both Shiite and Sunni followers.

What is happening in Iraq today of carnage by the sectarian gangs is the implication of the occupation policy who constituted the ethnic and sectarian division that is imposed on the Iraqi people throughout a governing council to sectarian constitution, ended up with the current appointed government.

Imposing the sectarian division policy, killing people based on their religious and ethnic identity and attacking the mosques and churches are all deemed to be part of the sectarian gangs strategy to dictate their laws and power. The strategy of spreading anarchy and destabilizing the current fragile situations are the only ways to ignite a civil war. And the occupying troops are the main reason standing behind these situations.

Iraqi People!

As Iraq Freedom Congress condemns the attack on the holy places of any sect or religion, it warns the Iraqis not to be trapped into the sectarian conflict. This conflict is not in the interest of the people and only the innocents will pay the heaviest price to serve the sectarian gangs. Iraq Freedom Congress views that prosperity, safety and freedom will not prevail unless the occupation is ended and a formation of a non-ethnic, non-religious state is established.

Iraq Freedom Congress calls on the Iraqi people to join its ranks, bare its flags, and declare: Not Shiite Identity, Not Sunnis Identity - ours is the Human Identity.
